Operational continuity

Argus Watchdog

When a system stops communicating, Argus tells you.

Watchdog continuously checks that servers and workstations remain reachable. When silence exceeds the configured tolerance, Argus opens the event and notifies the right people.

What it gives you

Operational detail without losing the bigger picture.

Each signal remains connected to the endpoint, company and time that give it meaning.

01

The Client communicates

Argus Client regularly sends current endpoint status to Monitor.

02

Monitor measures silence

The last communication is compared with the threshold configured for that specific system.

03

Planned events add context

Known restarts or shutdowns can apply a grace period before downtime is assessed.

04

Recovery closes the loop

New communication records the return, duration and any configured recovery notification.

How it works

A clear path from signal to outcome.

01ListenReceive regular Client communication
02WaitApply endpoint-specific tolerance
03AlertOpen one deduplicated event
04RecoverRecord the endpoint return
Silence has more than one possible cause

A missing communication can depend on the computer, the Argus service or the network. Watchdog makes the absence visible; the surrounding context supports diagnosis.
